Swarm intelligence for natural language processing

Source: ResearchGate

What if, in order to improve natural language processing models, research could be inspired by what happens in nature? This is the premise on which researchers Wojdan Al-Saeedan and Mohamed El Bachir Menai have based their scientific study.

Divided into 3 major parts, the 1st part of the study presents natural language processing (NLP) and its various fields of application

In the 2nd part, the researchers present the different models of swarm intelligence algorithms:

  • Ant Colony Optimization (ACO);

  • Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO);

  • Bees Swarm Optimization (BSO);

  • Firefly Algorithm (FA).

In the last and most interesting section, the researchers describe the application of swarm intelligence to NLP.

To conclude this scientific study, the researchers suggest ideas for future research.
